DENIAL: THE RIVER IN EGYPT

Usually blogs are used to post the happenings of one’s lives. It’s basically a real time diary for the good, the bad and the ugly. Most of my ramblings revolve around the nuisance of neighborhood kids, the contempt I have for my workplace or glimpses into the diabetic comas induced by The Mister - all that and of course, a good dosage of trash talk. At the end of the year, I felt satisfied about my semi-achievements throughout Redemption 2011, but then the realities of 2012 began to loom. My days at my workplace are numbered (that’s a good thing). The Mister’s days at his workplace are numbered (not such a good thing). Our days being able to sleep late with self-reliant children are dwindling (so not a good thing). Our days until Lola’s wedding are numbered (Lord, be with us). A master bedroom that had dreams of grandeur but became indefinitely under construction are now numbered (whether I like it or not). And that damn, useless Mitsubishi Eclipse’s days are numbered (a really great thing, but not really when you don’t have the money to replace it). So really, 2012 has begun quite interestingly and at this point, it’s about sheer survival. I kind of avoided the blog to avoid accountability, which pretty much has been the same attitude I have had toward my master bedroom. I mean hey, if you don’t have lighting in the room, who would be able to truly ascertain the devastation, right? But with a baby on the way, miter saws and nail guns are not the child friendly environment we would like to create. So whether I want to or not, here’s to MAKE IT WORK 2012.
